They say someone, somewhere has to win — and we have mapped out exactly where 'somewhere' is. With a $20 million draw this week and even more on the way during the festive season, lottery jackpots are bigger than ever, and we have pinpointed the luckiest Aussie suburbs.

Victoria's Balwyn North has been crowned the luckiest suburb of they year.

In the 12 months to December 1, over 500 players scored division one prizes across all Tatts products - scooping more than $204 million.

The eastern Melbourne suburb sold five of those winning tickets.

Moonee Ponds came a close second with four division one wins.

Sunshine, Doncaster East and Melbourne were the next three luckiest suburbs in Victoria with three wins each.

In Queensland, Brisbane was the luckiest city in which to buy a ticket.

In NSW Gosford, Narallean and Casula are the hot spots to try and hit the jackpot this Christmas.

And South Australia's Port Pirie, Adelaide and Morphett Vale were the luckiest suburbs for the state in 2011.
