As we saw on tonight's show, it's possible to start up your own franchise for as little as $20,000.
Frachises are less likely to fail than other small businesses, but they're not without risks.
Money Magazine's Effie Zahos says franchises can be a recipe for success but not instantly.
"Just because it is successful for someone else doesn't mean it will translate into instant success for yourself," she says.
Ian Krawitz's marketing company 10 Thousand Feet has surveyed 2000 franchisees and compiled this top ten list based on support, financial guidance, profitability and lifestyle.
