ACA: Have Your Say

Botox for under 30s

, Prev Next

On tonight's show we investigated why Botox is skyrocketing amongst under-30s age groups.

We met Courtney, 25, and Jacob, 23, who have both succumbed to the temptations of Botox in preparation for their wedding.

"At the end of the day it's very similar to going out and buying an expensive face cream or getting massages done or dying your hair," Courtney says.

But it may be young people like Courtney driving our addiction. Every few months she happily pays $120 to give her face a lift.

How young do you think is too young for Botox treatment? Do you think our obsession with Botox is out of control?

Why can't people just be natural. If you worry about what other people think of how you look you have got a problem. People with a medical condition have a valid reason to seek help. It's the people who want to look like someone they are not really turn me off. Age is a wonderfull thing, Wisdom is supposed to be gained with age. Just goes to show you this is not always the case. We all age, granted some age better than other. Injected Poison, what a joke.
"ideologies" of what is deemed to be right and wrong are formed on societies' opinions. Personally, I think botox is fine when you're in your 20's or older, under certain conditions. However, i do think there is a border line. To me, botox in your 20's would only be suitable if you look 10 years older than what you are. There is nothing worse than premature aging caused by careless sun exposure when you were young.
Rather that the invasive botox technique to enhance physical beauty, Coutney and Jacob could enhance the beauty that people hear, by injecting (no pun intended here) energy into their voices. A great sounding, energetic voice also has a stronger corrleation with the perception of a good personality. (ie than facial attractiveness) michael kelly
I wonder if anyone has stopped to consider the affects of injecting poison into your skin over long term periods, 20's to ... when does it stop? Not that i'm adverse to any cosmetic procedures, but I think at that age, botox is really unnecessary. I'm 25 and have the best skin I've ever had because I look after myself.
n251, Adelaide Dr Tasiopoulos or Dr Tass! Just posted about him, sorry, didn't see your post. 100 Brighton Rd, Ripponlea, Vic 03 95256200 or 101 Beach Rd, Beacon Cove, Port Melbourne, sorry don't know phone number by memory. Cheap and fantastic. Keep in mind, unfortunately, you might have an appointment, but most likely you'll have to wait an hour or so. Lot of people fly in to see him. It's worth it. He also does fillers, good job!
$15-20 a unit is not cheap! Dr Tass, ripponlea, Vic charges $12. Heis fantastic, I get 100 unit, but do not spend hundreds on useless creams.
This is what happens when we perpetuate a society where beauty is glorified for its own sake & a goal to be obtained regardless of the pain, suffering & expense incurred to oneself or others. I don't care how physically attractive a woman is. If she feels the need to resort to surgical intervention to pathetically cling to youthful appearance then she might as well be a donkey for all the attraction she holds for me. It's no wonder that attributes like kindness, generosity & selflessness are falling by the wayside. All we find now are selfish, promiscuous, black hearted individuals, far more concerned with their own appearance & the appearance of any potential partner rather than concerning themselves with the fact that they have nothing within themselves that a normal person would find even remotely attractive once their "beauty" fades. Lust fuelled by physical beauty are all that matters now. Just remember that when it all starts to sag you'll be alone & stuck with that black heart.
I was very surprised to see that people my age (24) are having botox. I would never consider using botox, i myself would rather spend or save the money!! I get mistaken as it is for a 17 year old, so that probably helps me. I would like to see a picture of Courtney before she started it and after to see that she has actually improved, or actually needed it. I say freak out about your looks when you hit 30!! or when people mistake you for a 40 year old!!
I am about to turn 39 in two weeks and to be totally honest (without being Vain) i could quite easily pass for early 30's,however,thats not to say i havn't considered BOTOX. I think it is a personal choice and i think if you have the money and its going to make you feel better about yourself then whynot??? Remarks from ignorant people like Leanneab are annoying beyond comprehension! How is she to know people who "treat" themselves are selfish and only think of themselves, how does she know those people dont already donate to charity (which i thought was a pisspore excuse anyway!)...To quote "beauty starts from the inside with a healthy diet and lifestyle" Obviously Leanneab you need to work on the inside a tad yourself because you dont sound like you posess too much beauty.
Botox is proof the world is full of stupid people. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is obvious when you have had it done. No, you don't look "fresh and youthful", you look like a balloon that has deflated completely and then slightly reinflated. Mushy and artificial. Ah well, at least it serves a purpose - making the intelligent people laugh. I'm 30 and there is no way I'd ever want to look that ridiculous, let alone deliberately pay for it.
