what others are saying
Due to the overwhelming response from the ACA story tonight our servers are struggling to cope, but we will be back with even more free stuff before you know it.

There are more than 100,000 items on-line, for free in Australia right now. We show you how, with a little time and persistence, you can literally furnish an entire house complete with TV’s, home furniture, stuff for the kids or an outdoor BBQ area - all for free.

Giving items away rather than selling them is becoming increasingly popular with empty nesters wanting to create some space, well-off people wanting to give less fortunate a hand, the environmentally aware who want to keep what they can out of landfills - and people that simply don’t have the time to try to sell their items on.

Top tips for grabbing yourself some freebies:

1 – You have to be in it to win it and timing is important so make sure you keep checking the websites to see what’s new.

2 – Pre arrange transport if you can because if people are giving away items for nothing chances are they want out of there was asap and won’t want to wait around too long for you.

3 - sticking to your neighbourhood will save you time and money on fuel costs.

4 –If an item does not have a photo ask for one to be emailed if possible and if not don’t be afraid to request some extra information about the quality and condition it’s in.

5 – Affluent suburbs have a lot of good brand names and nearly new products they are upgrading so it’s a great area to target if you are looking for extra special bits and bobs.

6 – what goes around comes around so don’t forget to upload your unwanted items for free keeping plenty of choices for everyone.

Sites featured on the show:

Gumtree Australia - Speed is the name of the game with Gumtree – make sure you are quick on that phone to bag your bargain.

Ziilch - Great quality items you can secure via email. Make sure you tell the owner a little about your situation and why you want to take it off their hands.
