Brace yourself. Australians are about to be all dressed up.
It’s an unlikely partnership but the most respected names in fashion are appearing on labels in department stores including Big W and Target.
Tomorrow, Peter Morrissey's new range MAN and WOMAN launches in Big W and you can pick up designer bargains including dresses for under $100, womens underwear for $15-30 and mens underwear for under $15.
"It's giving you quality designer fashion at affordable prices. Now if the economic climate was different, I'd probably be opening on Rodeo drive," Peter says.
He's dressed Elle Macpherson, Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman and now he's teamed up with fashionista Bruno Schiavi and wants to dress you.
It's a long way from the catwalks of Milan but the legendary Australian designer is living his dream.
"So the fact that I'm going to dress more people in Australia than probably any other designer does not make me mass market but probably makes me a great designer."
"I don't think Madonna would be upset when she sells 600 million albums, I don't think she'd call herself mass market, I think she'd call herself a great singer!" he says.
Peter Morrissey is not the first fashion icon to launch in discount department stores. Collette Dinnigan and Stella McCartney's ranges have launched ranges for Target.
