Top five products

Fiona Lippey has spent the past decade teaching Australians how to save money.

But now the Simple Savings founder is expanding her online treasure trove of saving tips to include an online store.

Fiona has made a list of five products that she's happy to put her name behind — some that last 50 times longer and can save you thousands.

The Groovee Scourer Yearly saving = $40

Its inventor John Villiano claims it will last up to 50 times longer than your average household sponge.

Wine Save Yearly saving = $500

There's no need to finish off the whole bottle, inventors claim you can stop at one glass without spoiling your vintage vino thanks to a squirt of argon gas.

Blueapple: Yearly saving = $600

These curious little blue apples are one way of curbing food waste. It's claimed the volcanic rock contained in the apple absorbs ethylene, the gas produced by aging fruit and vegies, which speeds up the spoiling process. Get rid of the gas and your fruit and vegies will stay fresher.

Ezy Freezie Moulds:

They're a $25 modern silicone version of the old homemade iceblock moulds, but Fiona has had hers for five years and hasn't bought an Icy Pole in that time.

The Lupi Lu:

It's a small toilet training seat designed to fit over your current loo – saving you $80 for every month earlier your child is toilet trained.
