It is the great gardening scam — a family of rogue tree loppers are ripping off retirees for thousands of dollars.

Fair Trading launched an investigation into the Alameddine family after receiving tip offs from police and a number of complaints from pensioners, and it wasn't long before the conmen were tracked down.

A Current Affair was with investigators as the rogues revisited an elderly couple they swindled more than $5000 from just the week before.
