Mark Stephens' tips to ditch the soft drink:
1. Make a time and date to stop.
Make a date to stop and stick to it. You could gradually reduce the amount you drink over a few days or a week or just stop altogether.
However you stop plan your quit day and stick to it.
2. Replace the bad habit with a good habit.
Replace soft drink with healthy choices. You could replace soft drinks with, green tea, herbal tea, juices, sparkling water with lemon or lime.
You could also do something else like go for a walk or do some exercise.
3. Drink 2 -3 litres of water every day.
Water helps flush away toxins, keep you hydrated and energised. Drink, a minimum of 8 to 10'glasses a day and have the glasses or drink bottles strategically positioned around your house or at work. I.e; on the coffe table, bedside table, in bathroom, kitchen bench etc.
This acts a reminder to keep you on track with your weight.
4. Eat small regular healthy meals.
To keep blood sugar levels balanced include fruit and vegetables at regular intervals throughout the day.
5. Just say no.
Stick to it and, like a drug addict or alcoholic, never touch it again.
