We meet the woman who has shed two-thirds of her body weight and turned her life around. At 192 kilograms Sandy was putting her life at risk and living in a personal hell – but her transformation has been nothing short of remarkable.

The EndoBarrier Gastrointestinal Liner (GI Dynamics. Inc., Lexington, MA) has been approved by the TGA of Australia in July 2011.

The gastric bypass device was developed in the UK for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. It is a minimally invasive thin plastic sleeve which lines the first 60cm of the small intestine.
