It seems there's a huge business out there with people employed to ask other people their opinions on all sorts of subjects.
How many times do you hear on the radio or read in the newspaper the line: "researchers have found"?
Well, recently I read researchers have discovered that half of us don't like out jobs. That was certainly the case for Benn Hart and Craig Walsh.
Craig was an accountant and Benn an electrician. They were school mates, and bored with their jobs they discusssed it over a beer one day.
Beer, you see, was their passion. They'd done a bit of home brewing and they certainly liked to drink the stuff. It all changed one day when Craig saw a for-sale ad for a brewery in the newspaper.
They borrowed a hundred thousand dollars and started brewing.
But it wasn't working. The beer was fine but how do two school friends with no experience try to muscle in on the likes of Fosters?
With a lot of hard work and even more determination.
For two years they lost money.
Had to sell their cars and borrow more from family and friends. But a few months back it started to turn around.
Their beer wasn't bad and stores started to make some orders. Then the public started ordering it online.
Today they sell to Dan Murphy's, Coles, David Jones and a stack of small retail outlets.
They ship their 'Outback" beer to four overseas locations as well, including the lucrative Japanese market.
So successful has the business been that they have outgrown their small brewery and next year will open a new state of the art facility worth millions.
Every day they wake up and can hardly wait to get to work they told me. Their job is their passion and their hobby. Dreams do come true says Craig.
P.S Naturally as part of my research into this story I had to try some of the product before embarking on the filming.
I am still conducting some of that research.
